Foodie Wedding Inspiration #1

So as you probably know Mr. FFID and I are getting married this summer. We don't have the budget for an extravagant Irish wedding and we are going to keep things simple but it doesn't mean it's not going to be fab, hey!

I'm not going to constantly wreck your head with my wedding preps as I want to keep my plans secret but I thought I'd share some bits and bobs that I find on the Internet for inspiration. I've created a secret board on Pinterest; it's brilliant to get ideas, recreate them and also for DIY if you're on a budget.

As this blog isn't a wedding website I will focus more on the food part... I'll be sharing five foodie wedding ideas/inspirations from time to time until I get hitched. They aren't necessarily things I'll do for my own wedding but things I like in general.

1. Cutlery escort cards

I'm absolutely in love with the brilliant idea of using vintage cutlery as escort cards. So pretty.

2. Using macarons as ring holders

You know I'm a macaron nut, right? I love the idea of putting the rings on two beautiful French macarons. Macarons are always a super photogenic kind of food...

3. A doughnut wedding cake

With the current Dublin doughnut craze I feel like I have to include this impressing stack of doughnuts. I have to say it looks quite lovely but I don't think my French guests would approve of it.

4. Eclair pyramid

This is a pretty funky looking alternative wedding cake made by the French pastry brand Fauchon. These are mini eclairs filled with different flavours of pastry cream. It costs an arm and a leg but it's so gorgeous!

5. Rustic indoor dessert table

I like the simplicity of this dessert table with the white cake stands, the vintage table, the fairy lights and the golden wine bottles used as chandeliers.

I hope you enjoyed this post, I'll post another foodie wedding inspiration article in a bit.
