Love Supreme, Portobello, Dublin 8

Update: Love Supreme has been replaced by First Draft Coffee at this location

I have to confess, each time I walk around Portobello I get such a feeling of house envy, especially along the canal. It seems like a nice neighbourhood to live in and there are some lovely food options like the ever popular Bibi's café or the lovely restaurant Locks.

On the August bank holiday Monday Mr. FFID and I went for a little stroll and ended up on Lennox Street to check out Love Supreme. I really like their coffee shop in Stoneybatter and I was looking forward to checking out their Southside counterpart.

The interior is even more stunning than their first cafe, with a black and white monochrome design; the dream for any Instagrammer.

Love Supreme serves their homemade sausage rolls, pies, cakes and cookies while their coffee is sourced from Koppi Fine Coffee Roasters  in Sweden.

We arrived in mid-afternoon and they didn't have much left but we both ordered a sausage roll and a hot drink each as a quick lunch.

Mr. FFID went for pork and cabbage while for once I went for the veggie option (mixed spicy beans and coconut) which had a great 'meaty' texture. Both were full of flavours and well satisfying as a light lunch. Himself had an Americano and I went for tea, an excuse for me to go back for coffee and a croissant next time.

Love Supreme is nice spot filled with light and it felt relaxed compared to the hustle and bustle of some of the city centre cafes. Just in case you're in search of some new art for your gaff, they also sell some framed artworks which are on display on their walls.

All round lovely.
