An American/Irish-owned doughnut shop in Paris: Boneshaker

I was looking at pictures on Instagram the other day and noticed a picture of doughnuts from Boneshaker Paris posted by a Paris-based blogger I follow. They looked really good so I had a little look at their account and noticed they had a 'Paddy's Day doughnut box' where the donuts had names like 'Free gaff' and 'Gwan, Ye Will'; they could only be from Ireland. After googling I found out that American lady Amanda Bankert-Scott and her Irish husband Louis Scott were feeding Parisians scrumptious doughnuts and getting rave reviews.

French Foodie in Dublin Meets Marco Pierre White

A few months back I found myself on my way to Dawson St, where I was scheduled to meet the one and only Marco Pierre White for a chat in his restaurant. I’ve always had this image of him in my head: the black and white portrait, which was taken in the late 80s by Bob Carlos Clarke. Marco Pierre looked like a handsome rock star with his long hair and a cigarette in his mouth. I was quite intimidated at the prospect of meeting the man who was one of the youngest chefs ever to receive three Michelin stars, who later gave these stars back to Michelin and a man who once even made Gordon Ramsay cry.

An Interview with Mr. FFID

Yesterday was the 10 year anniversary of Mr. FFID and I. It was an important anniversary that we actually spent apart, as I’m in Ballymaloe and he’s miserable enjoying life without me in Dublin. I’m just hoping that he isn’t feeding himself with bacon sandwiches and frozen pizzas while I’m away.
