An Unforeseen Blogging Comeback
You might have read my "final post" back in February, you know, the one where I said that I wouldn't post anything here again because I'd outgrown this blog... Well, I'm back! It's a bit like texting an ex-boyfriend in a moment of weakness, it feels somehow wrong and awkward but you do it anyway. One morning, I'm not quite sure why I changed my social media handles back to 'French Foodie in Dublin' and thought of writing here again. Mr FFID encouraged me to do so, so here I am.

7 Years...
It's that time of the year again when I write another article to pat myself on the back for sticking to the blog and to thank you for reading it. Last year I wrote a post about my thoughts on blogging and since then I think things got even worse in the world of the Internet.

My Contribution to Another Book
If you're an actual reader of this blog (as opposed to someone randomly ending up here through a Google search) you may remember that back in March I announced my contributions to two French travel books about Ireland.

A little announcement: my contribution to two books
When I was 18-19 years old I started developing an obsession with travel. I watched every single travel documentary on French TV and my mam even bought me a subscription to a travel magazine called GEO which I loved reading.
At that time, I already knew I wanted to pursue tourism studies, live in an English speaking country and see the world. Many years later, not only have I done all these things but I also started French Foodie in Dublin and Delicious Dublin Tours which have both brought me some great opportunities.

6 Years of Blogging: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
Exactly six years ago today I started French Foodie in Dublin. This little blog feels like a proper long-term relationship now, filled with love as well as its ups and downs. I'm happy to say that my love for this little corner of the Internet is still strong but it has certainly changed since the beginning I have to admit. It's been a while since I've posted a personal/opinion post and it seems like my 6th year blogiversary is actually a good time to post a few thoughts about the blogging world and tell you where I'm at with FFID.

2016 Highlights + 2017 Goals
I think we can pretty much agree that on a global scale 2016 was pretty grim. With the death of many loved icons, the election of Trump, the numerous terrorist attacks and dreadful conflicts worldwide, I think most people just wanted 2016 to feck off.

Life: 12 Years Living in Ireland
Exactly 12 years ago today, my heart was beating so fast when the plane was descending over Dublin. I could see this green land through the clouds and it looked so mystical. It was my second time in Dublin and really I had no idea what would happen next; I was nervous and excited at the same time.

Life: Mrs and Mr FFID's Wedding
Today is a bit of a special post for me as I'm blogging about... my wedding. I'm not a fan of sharing too much about my personal life on the Internet but a few weeks ago when I wrote an article on marrying Mr. FFID I was overwhelmed and touched by the number of good wishes I received from people whom I've never met.

2015 in Review
Happy New Year lovelies! I wish you lots of happiness and success for 2016 and above all lots of GOOD food.
2015 went past in the blink of an eye so I thought I'd do a review of the year, going over some of my highlights of the last year.

Paris, Je t'aime
I'm not sure how to start this...
Last Friday I was having a quiet evening on the sofa when Mr. FFID told me to check Twitter as something awful was going on in Paris. I couldn't possibly believe when I saw the words 'shootings', 'terrorists' and 'hostages' associated with the city I once called home. I spent most of my evening following the updates, went to bed crying and barely slept.

Turning 32
Today I’ve just turned 32. All I can think
of is that Julia Child’s quote: “I was 32 when I started cooking; up until then,
I just ate”.

Christmas 2014
Happy New Year! I hope 2015 will be filled with happiness and good food for you all, dear readers.
2014 went so quick, it's hard to believe it's over. It has been a good year in general, especially for this blog and my still-quite-new business.

10 Years in Dublin and why I love it
"When I die, Dublin will be written on my heart" - James Joyce
Exactly ten years ago today I moved to Dublin.
I still remember getting off the bus from the airport at O'Connell Street, I was 21 and didn't know what to expect. The Celtic Tiger was roaring and the Irish were partying like there was no tomorrow at the very start of the festive season 2004. The city was buzzing, it was young, cosmopolitan and fun: I LOVED IT straight away.

My Little Slice of French Heaven
If you follow me on Instagram you probably know that I visited my parents in the Limousin region in France back in July. After ten years here, home for me is definitely Dublin but I still love visiting my family once a year in that part of France, especially in the summer.

French Foodie in Dublin is 2 years old today: thanks for reading!
If someone would have told me two years ago
that I’d still be writing this blog I would have not believed them.

2013 Highlights for French Foodie in Dublin
So long my dear 2013, you’ve been a very
good friend and one of the best years of my life even. For the first time ever I
had New Year’s resolutions last year, such as starting my own business and becoming fitter. Those
weren’t small resolutions and I didn’t think I’d fulfil them to be honest. At the start of
2013 I had knots in my stomach when going to bed and even woke up a few times in tears as I didn’t think I’d could do it. However I had will-power, motivation and lots of moral support from Mr.
FFID and I did it!
